Gena Pederson
On the morning of No-
vember 13, 2019, Gena
Pederson, 95, departed
from life in Las Vegas, NV
with her son and
daughter by her side.
With hands that were
rarely still, Gena was a
masterful seamstress,
talented quilter, gifted
with her crochet hooks
and a matchless maker of
lefse. She was the queen
of pie baking, and it al-
ways delighted her to
make favorites for friends
and family. Gena was
never too shy to recite
poetry, especially Shel
Silverstein which always
made her laugh out loud.
Saturdays and Sundays
were set aside for Gena’s
enjoyment of classic
country music. So long as
her gracefully, dainty feet
kept moving, she contin-
ued to dance whether it
was on the dance floor or
in her living room. Gena
was a self-taught jack of
all trades and a master of
most. If help was needed,
it was Gena to the rescue.
Born Gena Hanson in
1924, she was preceded
in loss by her parents and
six siblings. Gena was
twice widowed by her
husband’s William Wilson
and Melvin Pederson. She
is survived by her son,
Dick Wilson of Minot
(Carol) and Donna Coz-
zens (David) of Las Vegas,
NV, four grandchildren
and two great- grandchil-
dren.
The earth friendly and
gentle process of Aqua-
mation has taken place
and interment will be at
Rosehill Cemetery in the
spring.
Thank you to all of
those who treasured and
admired Gena for her self-
less qualities, her tireless
energy and her quick wit.
A special thank you to the
caring staff and devoted
friends at The View for
providing her with years
of happiness and com-
munity.
Those we love don’t go
away, they walk beside
us every day, unseen,
unheard, but always
near, still loved, still
missed and very dear.
