Harvey, ND died Wednes-

at the St. Aloisius Nursing

Home in Harvey.

cember 3 at St. Anthony’s

Catholic Church, Selz,

ND. Visitation will be

beginning at 7 p.m. at the

Hertz Funeral Home, Har-

vey, ND. Burial will be in

the church cemetery.

El was born February

19, 1935 in Orrin, ND to

George and Mary

(Warmsbecker)

Bachmeier, the sixth of

eleven children. Growing

up she learned to work

hard on the farm with the

chores and caring for her

siblings. El moved to

Fessenden and worked at

the Corner Cafe where she

met her future husband,

Clifford Knoll. They were

married on April 3, 1956

in Sykeston. They lived

south of Fessenden where

they farmed and milked

cows. In 1972, they

bought a farm east of Selz

where they continued to

operate a dairy and grain

farm. They retired in

1991. Clifford died from

cancer on November 11,

2005. In 2013 she moved

to New Rockford where

she enjoyed special time

with her sisters and their

families. El spent the last

3¢ years at the St.

Aloisius Nursing Home

under the loving care of

the Unit B Staff.

El loved being outdoors

and even missed her cows

a little bit after selling

them. She especially

loved when the kids and

grandkids would visit and

she would cook up a

feast! Fried tacos were a

specialty of hers. She en-

joyed gardening. Her pick-

les were the BEST –

along with her chokecher-

ry jelly!

El was a very giving

person, making the best of

what she had and was al-

ways thinking of others.

Even as a young woman

living in Fessenden, she

saved up to buy her two

youngest sisters, Helen

and Mary what they

remember as their first

real Christmas gift. Each

one received a small

suitcase with a Timex

watch and a pair of yellow

pj’s inside.

El continued her whole

life to put others before

herself and will be missed

by her family.

She is survived by her

daughter, Marilyn (Gary)

Heilman of Harvey; sons,

Clifford, Jr. (Peggy) of

Casselton, Gary (Lori) of

Washburn; 8 grandchil-

dren, Toni, Joey, Jennifer,

Mindie, Kristi, James, An-

gie, Shelina; 24

ters, Mary Nokleby and

Helen Christianson both

(Alan) Reichenberger and

many nieces and

nephews.
