Doris Anna Hiller, 89,
of Desoto, Texas, formerly
of Honolulu, Hawaii, Glen
Ullin and Granville, died
November 5, 2019, peace-
fully at home with family
surrounding her.
Doris was born March
14, 1930, in Egg Creek
(McHenry County), to
Stener and Anna (John-
son) Hillerud. She was
reared on the family farm
south of Norwich and gra-
duated from Granville
High School. Doris mar-
ried Homer Hiller on Oc-

lerud family farm near
Norwich. They made their
home in Granville, where
she worked three jobs at
the local Post Office,
secretary at Granville
High School, and assisted
Homer at the Velva Ex-
change Bank in Granville.
The family moved to El-
gin in 1963, where Doris
worked at the County
Welfare Office in Carson.
They then moved to Deer
River, MN, where she
worked at Swanson Chev-
rolet. They then moved to
Randall, MN. She and Ho-
mer then moved back
home to North Dakota to
Velva for a short time.
Their last residence to-
gether was for 36 years in
Glen Ullin. She and Ho-
mer worked in the bank
and insurance business.
She drove a 1966 Mustang
for several years, which
became her pride and joy.
In 2012, Doris moved to
Honolulu, Hawaii to live
with her son Terry Lee
Hiller. Recently, the fami-
ly had moved to Desoto,
Texas, in August 2019. In
Glen Ullin, Doris was a
member of the Zion Luth-
eran Church, Lioness
Club, and member of the
Eastern Star. She enjoyed
baking, loved shopping,
dancing and playing cards
with friends. She also
loved to travel; some of
the memorable places
were Norway (tracing her
family heritage), Branson,
MO, and a few visits to
Hawaii before moving
there. In recent years, she
visited Chicago, New York
City, New Jersey, Couer
D’Alene, ID; San Antonio,
Houston and Dallas, Tex-
as (before moving there).
