Mary T. Rolf

Mary T. Rolf, 87, of

Stanley, ND, passed away

on Wednesday, October

16, 2019 at Mountrail

Bethel Home in Stanley,

North Dakota.

Born on a farm in Van

Hook, North Dakota, Mary

was the fifth of six chil-

dren of William and Mary

(Scholz) Roggenbuck. She

grew up in Van Hook on

the family farm and was a

1950 graduate of Van

Hook High School.

In June of 1953, she

married her true love,

Glenn D. Rolf. Their mar-

riage lasted 11 years, as

Glenn passed in 1964.

Mary worked as a certi-

fied nurse’s aide for many

years and found joy in

helping others. Music was

a big part of her life. You

could always hear her

singing and yodeling, she

even sang on the

radio live in 1952 on the

Dakota Hayride Show.

Mary also loved being

outside working in her

garden.

Mary is survived by:

her daughter, Glenda (Kris

Halvorson) Ulven; sons,

Robert Rolf, Mark Rolf;

grandchildren Steven Ul-

ven, Amanda (Jake)

Smith, Katheryn Halvor-

son, Jared Halvorson, Lee

(Leslie) Halvorson and

Heather (Luis) Estrada.

She was preceded in

death by: her loving hus-

band, Glenn; her parents

and her five siblings.

Funeral Liturgy will be

held 11:00 am, Wednes-

day, October 23 at Queen

of the Most Holy Rosary

Catholic Church in Stan-

ley, with the Rev. Jason

Signalness officiating.

Mary will be laid to rest at

Fairview Cemetery in

Stanley. A luncheon will

be held at the church im-

mediately following

graveside services.
