Sophia Anderson

Sophia “Tigz” K. Ander-

son, 40, Minot, ND,

passed away Tuesday,

September 3, 2019, at

Trinity Hospital of Minot.

Sophia Katherine Slyter

was born May 29, 1979,

the daughter of Richard

and Ele (Dietrich) Slyter,

in Bottineau, ND. She was

raised and educated in

Dunseith and Bottineau,

before eventually moving

to Minot.

Sophia received her

GED and was employed in

and around the Minot

area. Her employment in-

cluded Hot Stuff Pizza

and as a dietary aide and

CNA for Trinity Homes.

Sophia had many skills

and knowledge, and suc-

ceeded in any endeavor

she undertook.

Sophia’s determination

to beat health issues be-

gan by being a multiple

cancer survivor and its

treatments and a noncan-

cerous brain tumor that

required trips to Chicago

and Rochester. She also

underwent stomach sur-

gery for the removal of a

benign tumor that re-

quired removal of

three-fourths of her

stomach. Finally, being

diagnosed with end stage

renal failure led to treat-

ments beginning in Minot,

then three times a week in

Bismarck, with at least

one trip again to Roches-

ter to repair effects of the

surgeries. This had to be

done to assist with her

hemodialysis.

Sophia was a strong and

loyal family member.

Those who knew and

loved her admired her

love of horses, wildlife,

music, art and family.

Surviving family in-

cludes: Husband, Dane

Anderson; she was the

proud mother of three

sons, Kaleb Anderson and

Austin and Braydon Al-

ford; mother, Ele Slyter;

sister, Sherri (Cam) Mil-

lang; brother, Jamie

Nadeau (Brandy Myers);

and many nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Sophia was preceded

in death by: her father,

Richard D. Slyter.

Sophia’s family would

like to express their

thanks for the many

kindnesses bestowed

upon them during this

difficult time.

Memorial Service: Fri-

day, September 13, 2019,

at 2:00 p.m. at Corner-

stone Presbyterian

Church, Minot, ND.
