Gregory “Greg” James
Kraiter, 74, Fargo, ND
peacefully joined the
heavens above on Sep-
tember 5, 2019 under the
comforting care of the
Veteran’s Administration
Health Care System after
an arduous battle with
cancer.
Greg was born on
March 26, 1945 in Dickin-
son, ND to John and Ann
(Reindel) Kraiter. He gra-
duated High School from
Dickinson High in 1963
and joined the North
Dakota Army National
Guard as a Supply Ser-
geant where he served
honorably until Sep-
tember 10, 1973 when he
transitioned into the Unit-
ed States Army as an In-
fantryman with assign-
ments in Ft. Carson, CO
and Ft. Gulick, Panama.
In 1978, he transferred
into the Recruiting Com-
mand where he served for
the next 15 years as a Re-
mote Field Recruiter,
which was his true pas-
sion. He retired after 28
years of faithful service to
our Nation at the rank of
Sergeant First Class.
He found the love of his
life, Paulette Kraiter
(Bingert), to whom he
married on the August 10,
1968 at St. Ann’s Catholic
Church, Hebron, ND.
After retiring, Greg and
Paulette settled down in
Minot, ND, where he
worked as the Day Pro-
gram Manager for REM
ND serving the needs of
the developmentally dis-
abled. In 2007 they moved
to Harwood, ND to be
closer to their children
and grandchildren.
Greg was an active
member with St. Williams
Catholic Church in Argus-
ville, ND, as well as the
Harwood American Le-
gion Post #297 where he
held the positions of Post
Vice Commander, Post
Commander (2 terms) and
District Commander. Greg
was also active with the
Knights of Columbus
where he held the posi-
tions of Grand Knight of
the Council, District
Deputy, 4th Degree Faith-
ful Navigator and State
Marshal. Greg’s most
favored time in recent
years was simply to spend
time with his family to
which he held in the
highest regard. He would
do anything to ensure at-
tendance at any of his
grandchildren’s school or
sporting events.
He is survived by: his
wife, Paulette, of 51 years,
Fargo, ND, his children
Karla (Jeff) Kraviec, Fargo,
ND, Kent (Jen) Kraiter,
Harwood, ND, grandchil-
dren, Allison (Will) Case,
Moorhead, MN, Hannah
and Kaylee Kraiter, Har-
wood, ND and
great-grandchild Riley
Case. Greg was preceded
in death by his parents
John and Ann Kraiter, and
sisters Ann Marie Berg,
Anita Wanner and Judy
Tooz.
Prayer services will be
held Saturday September,
7, 2019 at 7:00 PM at
Boulger’s Funeral Home,
123 10th Street South,
Fargo, ND with visitation
starting at 6:00 P.M.
Mass of Christian Buri-
al will be held on Sunday,
September 8, 2019 at 1:00
PM, at St. Williams
Catholic Church, Argus-
ville, ND. A luncheon will
follow at the Argusville
Community Center. Greg
will later be interred at
the Fargo National
Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
