tember 5, 2019, at Trinity

Donald Mathias

Theisen was born March

11, 1926, the son of Aloys

and Anna Barbara (Dock-

endorf) Theisen, in Cold

Spring, Minnesota. He

was raised in Cold Spring,

Minnesota and attended

the rural school there.

He enlisted in the Unit-

ed States Army Air Force

in June of 1944. He proud-

ly served his country dur-

ing WWII and served as a

tail gunner on a B-17 in

the 8th Air Force which

flew over European Thea-

tre of Operations. He was

honorably discharged

June of 1946.

Don came to Minot on

April 20, 1948, where he

began his employment

with Kemper Construc-

tion. He continued work-

ing there until March of

1991, as the construction

superintendent under

George Kemper.

Don married Patricia

Ann Schaefer Askvig and

her four sons on No-

vember 19, 1966, in Des

Lacs, ND. They made

their home in Des Lacs.

He was a member of St.

John the Apostle Catholic

Church in Minot.

He enjoyed gardening,

fishing and woodworking.

Don was a lifetime

member of the Knights of

Columbus and the Ameri-

can Legion.

His loving family in-

cludes: wife of 52 years,

Pat, Des Lacs, ND; chil-

dren, Brent (Stacy)

Askvig, Minot, Gary

(Jeanne) Askvig, Nash-

ville, TN, Donny (Jody)

Askvig, Des Lacs, and

Curt (Kylene) Askvig,

Minot; and Dave (Darcy)

Theisen, Brooklyn Park,

MN; grandchildren, Josh,

Ethen, Kaitlin, Braden, Ja-

son, Marcus, Casey, Cas-

sie, Kali, Matt and

Ryanne; 13

great-grandchildren;

brothers, Gerald Theisen

and Leeroy Theisen, both

of St. Joseph, MN;

sisters-in-law, Renee

Theisen and Gert Theisen;

and numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Don was preceded in

death by: his parents; in-

fant daughter, Diane Kay

and infant son, Jon

Joseph; ten brothers and

sisters.

St. John the Apostle

Catholic Church, Minot.

ND.
