Darlene Mrytle (Olson)

Jensen was born Sep-

tember 15, 1934, at home

in Bowbells, ND. She was

the 13th of 15 children

born to Albert and Mrytle

(Bormuth) Olson. She

passed peacefully into

God’s arms on September

17, 2019, surrounded by

her loving family.

She was raised and edu-

cated in Bowbells, gra-

duating in 1952. As a

senior in High School, she

met Roy Jensen of Powers

Lake and knew from that

moment that she was go-

ing to marry him. While

waiting for Roy’s

discharge from the Army,

Darlene worked in the

ASCS office in Bowbells.

Roy and Darlene were

married June 30, 1955.

They celebrated their 64th

anniversary this past

June. They resided in

numerous places before

settling in Powers Lake

permanently. While Roy

farmed and worked in the

oil fields, Darlene sold

Avon, clerked auction

sales, and raised their

three children.

Darlene loved her fami-

ly. She was a wonderful

sister, wife, mother, aunt,

grandmother, and

great-grandmother. She

loved being around peo-

ple, especially the babies.

She had the wit and

humor that kept us in

stitches.

Darlene never sat still.

She loved music. You

could always hear her

beautiful voice. She en-

joyed square-dancing and

waltzing with her sisters.

She did sit down long

enough to snowmobile,

crochet, design silk flower

bouquets, put puzzles to-

gether and play solitaire.

The family would like

to thank those caregivers

at Somerset Assisted Liv-

ing and Mountrail Bethel

Home for the loving care

and attention shown to

their mom.

Blessed to have shared

in her life are: her hus-

band, Roy; daughters, Dia-

na (Mike) Thingstad, Ron-

da (Bill) Kuster; son,

Leslie (Rhonda) Jensen; 11

grandchildren; 13

great-grandchildren; sis-

ters, Martha McLean and

Lora (Mickey) Schultz and

brother, Robert Olson.

Darlene was preceded

in death by: her parents,

her eleven brothers and

sisters and

great-granddaughter, Ken-

nedy Marie Karna.
