Edward Salwey

Edward Salwey, 88,

Max, ND, formerly of

Minot, ND, passed away

Friday, August 23, 2019,

in his home, surrounded

by his family.

Edward was born De-

cember 16, 1930, the son

of John and Rose (Selzler)

Salwey, on the family

farm outside of Orrin, ND.

He was raised with his 12

siblings.

Edward lived and

worked on the family

farm until marrying Regi-

na Senger in 1953. He was

then drafted into the Unit-

ed States Army in 1956

and proudly served his

country while being sta-

tioned in Germany until

being honorably

discharged.

After returning to ND,

Edward moved to Minot,

where he worked the ma-

jority of his life in the

construction industry,

where he specialized in

the art of hand taping and

texturing. You can find

evidence of his craftsman-ship in many homes

throughout Minot and the

surrounding area.

After losing his home in

the 2011 Minot flood, Ed-

ward moved to rural Max,

where he made his home

with his family until the

time of his passing.

Edward was a member

of St. Leo the Great Ro-

man Catholic Church of

Minot and a member of

the Eagles for a number of

years. He enjoyed wood-

working, playing cards,

visiting with friends and

family, mowing grass, gar-

dening and deer hunting

with his children and

grandchildren.

Edward will be missed

by all who knew and

loved him.

Surviving family in-

cludes: Children, Joan

(Glen) Dunkel, Max,

Kevin Salwey, Minot, Ken

(Jacque) Salwey, Bismarck

and Julie (Kevin) Kouba,

St. Cloud, MN; many

grandchildren and great-

grandchildren; 1 great-

great-grandchild; sisters,

Francis Fettig and Betty

Mae (James) Zacher.

Edward was preceded

in death by his parents;

wife, Regina Salwey;

brothers, John, Jack,

Joseph, Mike, Sylvester

and Benedict Salwey; and

sisters, Rose Voller,

Kathryn Boechler, Carol

Frittel and Delores

Schaan.

Mass of Christian Buri-

al: Tuesday, August 27,

2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Our

Lady of Grace Catholic

Church, Minot, ND.

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot,

ND.

Visitation: Monday

from 5 to 7 p.m. followed

by Recitation of the Holy

Rosary and a Vigil Prayer

Service at 7 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot, ND.
