Archie P. Robillard, age
87 of Minot, formerly of
Maxbass, died Thursday,
August 8, 2019, at a Minot
care center. His funeral
will be held on Wednes-
day at 11:00 am at the En-
glish Lutheran Church in
Maxbass. Visitation will
be Tuesday (Today), be-
ginning at 5:00 pm with a
prayer service at 6:30 pm
at the church in Maxbass.
Burial will be at the
Westhope Cemetery.
Archie Peter Robillard,
a son of Joseph Henry and
Irene (Kidd) Robillard,
was born on February 27,
1932, in Westhope. He
was raised in Westhope
and attended school there.
He began working as a
farmhand and at the age
of 15 he began his truck-
ing career. He entered the
US Army on January 8,
1953, and served until re-
ceiving his honorable
discharge on December
22, 1954. On May 5,
1955, he married Delores
(Corky) Steinhaus. They
lived in Rugby, where he
managed the Standard
Oil. They moved back to
Westhope, and he worked
in the oil field and also
drove truck. In 1967, they
moved to Maxbass. They
purchased the Can-Dak
Lounge in Westhope in
1974, and later sold it in
1977. He continued to
work as an oil producer
and truck driver. He also
built and renovated
houses in North Dakota
and Las Vegas. In 2002,
he began working at Far-
den Construction. Corky
passed away on June 24,
2006. He retired from
Farden Construction in
2010 and moved to Minot.
Archie was a member of
the Trinity Lutheran
Church in Westhope. He
enjoyed racing cars and
horses, playing poker and
golfing.
He is survived by his
daughter, JoAnn (Rodney)
Stevens of Upham; son,
Alan (Carla) Robillard of
Minot; grandchildren
Aaron (Jackie) Rosenthal
of Minot, Tara Lillemon
(Sanjeet Caberwal) of
North Carolina, Andrew
Rosenthal (Lexi Bahl) of
Maxbass, Jordan Robillard
of Colorado and Paige Ro-
billard of Fargo; great-
grandchildren, Barger and
Gabriel Healey, Cashton
Robillard, Tenlee and
Thadd Rosenthal; com-
panion, Mary Ann
Fitchner of Minot; broth-
er, Russell (Ruthie) Robil-
lard of Billings; sisters,
Patty Russell of Minneap-olis, MN, Gloria (Ronnie)
Engg of Westhope and
Carol (Willard) Garlock of
Hastings, NE, and numer-
ous nieces and nephews;
step-grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, Han-
nah (Tony) Zimmerman
and Brooklyn and Brynlee
of Bismarck, Danielle
(Dylan) Heinze and Ally,
Ryleigh, and Walker of
Upham.
In addition to his wife
and parents, he was pre-
ceded in death by a son,
Richie Robillard and
son-in-law, Rick Rosen-
thal.
