Grant Steen

Grant Steen, 93, Ken-

mare, ND, passed away

Tuesday, June 25, 2019, in

a Kenmare hospital.

Grant A. Steen was

born April 6, 1926, the

son of Iver and Olga

(Arneson) Steen, in

Coulee, ND. He was

raised and educated in

Crowfoot Township,

Mountrail County.

Grant was a member of

the United States Army

from 1945 – 1947. He

proudly served his coun-

try overseas in Korea. He

received the Victory

Medal and the Army of

Occupation Medal Lapel

Button.

Following his honorable

discharge, Grant returned

home to farm with his fa-

ther. He also worked in

the oil fields at the

Iverson’s wells in Tioga,

ND.

Grant married June

Anne Hagebock of Hope,

ND in 1953 in Coulee,

ND. They bought a farm

in 1966 and farmed to-

gether until moving to

Kenmare in 1984. June

passed away August 1,

2015.

Grant was a member of

Bethlehem Lutheran

Church Board in Coulee

and also served on the

church board. He was the

Crowfoot Township Clerk

for 36 years. He drove the

Kenmare School Bus for

39 years and worked as a

custodian for Kenmare

School for 12 years. He

bought the water service

in Kenmare in 1984 and

worked for R&C Muffler

for 2 years. He also

worked with the Green

Thumb Program for Ken-

mare School and Kenmare

Hospital.

Surviving family in-

cludes: Daughter, Shelley

(Steve) Heidel, Kenmare;

sons, Raymond (Belinda)

Steen, Donnybrook and

Randy Steen, Stanley;

grandchildren, Kristi,

Charles, Kimberly, Josie

and Jesse;

great-grandchildren, Bren-

itt, Shae, Gunnar, Brac,

Briggs, Rogan, Rex, Vir-

ginia, Mallory, Julieanne,

Grant and Kenzlee; and

sister-in-law, Joyce Cole.

Grant was preceded in

death by: his parents;

wife, June Steen;

great-grandson, Aidan

Bossingham;

daughter-in-law, Joan

Steen; 3 brothers; and 2

sisters.

Funeral: Saturday, July

13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at

Nazareth Lutheran

Church, Kenmare, ND.

Visitation: One hour

prior to the service at the

church.

Burial: Will take place

at a later date at Beth-

lehem Lutheran

Cemetery, rural Coulee,

ND.
