Garrett (Gary) Olof
King, 90, passed away on
Monday, June 3, 2019 in a
hospital in Whittier, Cali-
fornia. He was born on
February 9, 1929 in Minot
and raised on a farm by
his parents, Chester and
Ruth King, in Don-
nybrook, ND. He became
a jack of many trades such
as coin collector, golf cad-
dy, piano player and
tuner, and volunteer at
senior centers. He moved
to California more than 20
years ago, and lived in
Whittier since June, 2011
to be near his brother,
Chester King, and his
family. Gary took pride in
his good health in his ag-
ing years due to the fact
he never smoked or
drank. He also remained
happy, never worried
about a thing, and kept
God in his heart during
the last 10 years of his
life. Gary was preceded
in death by his parents,
brother, and sister-in-law,
Regina (Black) King. He is
survived by his nieces
and nephews living in
California and cousins liv-
ing in Washington, Ore-
gon, and North Dakota.
Gary died peacefully and
is buried at Rose Hills
Cemetery in Whittier, Cal-
ifornia.
