raised on a farm northeast
of Plaza and graduated
from Plaza High School in
1974. She continued her
education at Williston
Junior College and Moor-
head State College prior to
graduating from Iowa

with a degree in elementa-ry education.
Cindy married her high
school sweetheart, Carter

1975 at Plaza Lutheran
Church. They made their
home in Minot where she
was employed as a

Elementary Schools in
Minot. She retired in
2018.
Cindy was a member
and deacon at Corner-
stone Presbyterian Church
in Minot and a member of
the state and national
education associations.
She especially enjoyed
flower gardening, bird
watching (especially hum-
mingbirds), reading, jour-
naling, Bible studies, and
spending time with her
cat Marlene. That being
said, her passion was her
family. In the last twelve
years, her greatest joy was
her grandchildren. She
loved baking cookies with
the kids and telling them
bedtime stories. The
grandkids knew they
could always count on
grandma to sneak them a
