Welsch, 80, Surrey, ND,

passed away Monday,

June 10, 2019, at his

home.

Marvin Thomas Welsch

was born March 22, 1939,

in Minot, ND, at St Joe’s

hospital. Marvin was the

oldest of four siblings

born to Helen and John

Welsch. He was raised on

the family farm located

near Kenmare and Norma.

Marv married Marie

Brekhus on May 26, 1961,

at St. Mary’s Cathedral in

Fargo. They moved to

Parshall, ND, for a short

while before moving to

Surrey, where they made

their home. From this un-

ion, three children were

born: Mark, Ann, and

John. Sadly, Marie passed

in July of 2014.

Marvin loved his six

grandsons and the time he

spent with them. He espe-

cially enjoyed spending

time with them and others

at their Lake Metigoshe

home. Fireworks, fishing,

chasing fireflies, and bon-

fires were a few of the

things they liked to do.

Marv also enjoyed visiting

friends at the local bar

and playing solitaire.

Marv’s career was as a

diesel mechanic. He

worked at various garages

in Minot and ended his

career at Northland Bus

before he retired. Marvin

also enrolled in the Army

right out of high school.

His position in the Army

was FDC forward. He was

a member of St. Leo’s

Catholic Church in Minot.

Marvin was a widow

and his loving family in-

cludes: Sons, Mark

(Becky) Welsch, Surrey,

and John Welsch,

Bismarck; daughter, Ann

(Richard) Breslin, Bis-

marck; grandchildren,

John (Liz Durham) Bres-

lin, Shaun Welsch,

Matthew Breslin, Jacob

(Carly) Welsch, Don

Welsch, and Doug

Welsch; brothers, John

(Pat) Welsch, Williston,

and Fritz (Carolyn)

Welsch, Apple Valley,

MN; sister, Jean (Darwin)

Helmers, Minot; and

numerous nieces, neph-

ews and cousins.

Marvin was preceded

in death by his parents,

Helen and John Welsch;

and wife Marie.

al: Thursday, June 27,

2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Our

Lady of Grace Catholic

Church, Minot, ND.

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot,

ND.

Visitation: Wednesday

from 5 to 7 p.m. followed

by a Vigil Prayer Service

at 7 p.m. at Thompson-

Larson Funeral Home,

Minot, ND.
