Alan Ray Johnson

May 18, 1955-May 14, 2019

MOHALL – Alan Ray

Johnson, 63, of Mohall,

passed away on May 14,

2019, just four days short

of his 64th birthday.

Alan was born on May

18, 1955, in Minot, to

Harold and Georgia

(Streich) Johnson, of rural

Antler. He grew up on the

family farm with his

parents and five siblings

and tended to sheep, pigs,

and horses. Alan attended

Antler High School and

graduated in 1973.

After high school, Alan

began working for Merton

Jespersen farming and do-

ing excavating work,

which is where he learned

a lot of his handy work.

A few years later, he be-

gan working for Bergstrom

Construction before work-

ing with other trucking

companies. In 1989, he

jumped into the oil indus-

try, which was a profes-

sion that he loved and

dedicated his life to. He

started as a hot oil truck

driver with Ward Willis-

ton and from there to MBI

when the company pur-

chased Ward Williston.

Alan moved to Basin Ser-

vice in 2013, where he

was serving as the Branch

Manager/Supervisor at the

time of his death.

On Nov. 20, 1976, Alan

married his best friend

and the love of his life,

Barb Erickson. They are

the parents of two chil-

dren, Brandi and Joshua

Johnson. His life got a

whole lot richer when he

became “Papa” to four

wonderful grandchildren.

Alan loved spending

time with family and

friends, but his most cher-

ished moments were

those spent with his

grandchildren teaching

them to hunt and fish.

They enjoyed many vaca-

tions together and with

their grandkids. He is

loved and remembered for

his sense of humor, caring

attitude, and his passion

for cooking.
