John “Jack” Russell
Rogers, 82, Velva, ND,
passed away Friday, April
11, 2019, at Trinity Hospi-
tal, Minot, ND.
John was born March 3,
1937, the son of Henry
and Ida (Davey) Rogers, in
Velva, ND. He was raised
and educated in Velva,
graduating from Velva
High School in 1955.
After graduation, he ob-
tained his teaching certifi-cate at Minot Teachers
College (now Minot State
University).
He taught in school in
Grafton and a rural school
near Velva. He then
worked for his father on
the family farm and
Truax-Traer Mines. He
worked Souris River Tele-
phone for 32 years.
Jack married Hazel Cof-
fin in Grafton, ND on No-
vember 16, 1957.
Jack and family where
lifetime campers, starting
with tents and ending up
with a fifth wheel camper.
Along with this they be-
came members of Good
Sam Club, where he held
various offices.
Jack was active in Boy
Scouts, starting as an as-
sistant scout leader and
later became scout master
for 13 years and guided 12
young men to Eagle Scout
status.
Jack was a member of
Velva United Methodist
Church serving many
years in several offices.

SD, Jacqueline (Rev.
Glenn) Hoskins, Victor-
ville, CA, Dean (Joyce)

and Glenda (Douglas)
Lindberg, Victorville, CA.
Grandchildren, Mar-

Baune, Robert Baune,
Sara Hoskins, Keith Be-
gin, Curtis Begin, Jason
Lindberg and Brandon
Lindberg.

He was preceded in

Funeral: Wednesday,
April 17, 2019, at 10:30 a
.m. at Oak Valley Luth-
eran Church, Velva.
Interment: Sunset

ND on Wednesday at 1
p.m.
Visitation: Tuesday
from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Velva.
Prayer Service: Tues-
day at 7 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Velva, ND.
