Ronald Marean Preskey

Ronald Marean Preskey,
86, Minot and formerly of
rural Glenburn died on
Monday, February 4, 2019
in a Minot assisted living
facility.
Ronald Preskey was
born on November 25,
1932 in Minot, ND to Leo
and Neva (Marean) Pres-
key. He was raised in rur-
al Glenburn and educated
at Glenburn High School.
He graduated with honors
as valedictorian in 1950.
His Mother, Neva (1924),
himself (1950), his son
Mitchell (1973) and
grandson Cory (1996)
were the first four genera-tion family to graduate
from Glenburn High
School. Ronald remained
a strong Panther fan and
supporter. He was on the
committee and cham-
pioned the community for
a new high school in the
early 60’s.
He was inducted into
the United Sates Army at
Mohall, ND on January 5,
1955. He was raised to the
rank of SP3 and honor-
ably discharged on De-
cember 20, 1956. He re-
turned to the family farm
after his discharge.
Ronald married Evelyn
Souther on October 3,
1954 at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Glenburn.
Evelyn passed away De-
cember 15, 2018. They
made their home on the
Preskey family homestead
where they raised their
four children. Farming
was Ronald’s passion and
his life! The farm is
currently registered now
as a Centennial farm in
Renville County. He was
proud to say the sixth
generation of Preskeys
now reside on the home-
stead farm. Ronald en-
joyed spending many
summer days with family
and friends at Lake Meti-
goshe.
Ronald and Evelyn
moved to Minot in April
of 2011, most recently at
Edgewood Vista.
Ronald was a lifelong
member of Trinity Luth-
eran Church. Ronald also
served on the Farmers
Union Elevator Board in
Minot for many years.
Ronald’s hobbies and
special interests included;
the farm and all that it en-
tailed, his Wednesday
night poker game, pi-
nochle and whist card
parties and baseball. He
enjoyed his daily break-
fast stop at the Glenburn
restaurant and the morn-
ing “talk” of the day.
Ronald’s loving family

of Bottineau; grandchil-
dren: Cory (Desaraye)

Karen (Josh) Glover, Jen-
nifer (Scott) Bina, RaeAnn
Preskey, Nicole (Kaleb)
Klein, Tyler Johnson, Kir-
by (Marcella) Johnson,
Wyatt Johnson; great
grandchildren: Oakley
Trueblood, Elsa and
Brooks Marean Preskey,
Ava, Elise, Brielle and
Jocelyn Lorsung; Indiana
and Elliott Evelyn Glover,
Lyndon Bina and Raelyn
Johnson; siblings: Shirley
Lay, of Marietta, GA and
several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Ronald was preceded
in death by his parents,
wife, grandson, Blake
Johnson, and a brother,
Richard.
Celebration of the Life
of Ronald Preskey: Satur-
day, February 9, 2019 at
11:00 AM in Trinity Luth-
eran Church in Glenburn,
ND.
Interment will be at
Fairview Cemetery in
Glenburn in the Spring.
Visitation: Friday from
3 PM to 6 PM in Thomas
Family Funeral Home –
Minot.
Memorials are preferred
to Edgewood Vista, Caring
Edge Hospice or Trinity
Lutheran Church – Glen-
burn.
