Dennis William Martin

Dennis William Martin,

57, of Burnsville, MN,

died on Monday, Nov.

19th at a Minneapolis

hospital. Dennis was born

on January 24, 1961 in

Kenmare to Allen and

Carolyn Martin. He at-

tended Kenmare schools

and graduated from Ken-

mare High School as a

honor student with the

class of 1979.

Dennis enjoyed the

family camping trips and

exploring the hills and

backroads of Kenmare

with his brothers David

and Douglas and dog

Chip. This began his love

of outdoor adventures.

After high school he

joined the U.S. Army

where he served for two

years. He then enrolled at

UND, Grand Forks, where

he graduated summa cum

laude with a degree in

computer science.

Dennis married Peggy

Frost of Minot in Sep-

tember of 1996 and they

moved to Minneapolis to

make their home. His pas-

sion for the outdoors con-

tinued in the Lake Superi-or area where he dove for

shipwrecks, explored the

Apostle Islands in his Zo-

diac boat, rock climbing

and white water kayaking.

Dennis and Peggy be-

came parents of two chil-

dren, Maggie and John

and family was the top of

his list and time spent

with them was his

greatest joy. He will al-

ways be remembered by

all who knew him for his

quick wit and indepen-

dent life style. He had

been employed with Un-

isys and Barr Engineering

in the Minneapolis area.

Dennis is survived by

his wife Peggy, their chil-

dren Maggie and John,

mother Carolyn Martin,

brothers Doug and David,

sister-in-law Linda Mar-

tin, nephew Matthew

Martin, In-Laws Mr. and

Mrs. Virgil Frost of Minot

and several nieces and

nephews.

He was preceded in

death by his father Allen,

and a nephew, Michael

Martin.

Funeral services were

held with military honors

on Saturday, Nov. 24th at

Faith Covenant Church in

Burnsville, MN.
