Valentine Goldade

Valentine Goldade, 87,

Harvey, ND died Thurs-

day, November 8, 2018 at

a Minneapolis hospital.

Funeral services will be

held at 10:30 a.m. Thurs-

day, November 15 at the

Cornerstone Community

Church South Campus in

Harvey.

Visitation will be from

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on

Wednesday with a prayer

service at 7 p.m. at the

Hertz Funeral Home, Har-

vey, ND.

Burial will be in the

Country Mennonite

Brethren Cemetery, Har-

vey, ND.

Valentine was born May

25, 1931 on the family

farm near Orrin, ND. The

family moved to the Selz

area where he attended

grade school. At the age of

12, Valentine left home to

work on a farm in the

Martin area for the Fieck-

ert family. He later served

in the US Army’s 11th

Airborne Division. After

being honorably

discharged he returned to

Harvey.

Valentine married Mar-

lene Faul on September

27, 1956 at the Country

Mennonite Brethren

Church near Harvey.

They later purchased the

farm from Marlene’s

parents near Pony Gulch

south of Harvey. They

lived and farmed there

until moving into Harvey

in 1981. He retired from

farming in 2005. Valen-

tine was also a carpenter

in the area.

Valentine enjoyed so-

cial outings with his wife

and especially spending

time with the grandchil-

dren. He was a member of

the Cornerstone Com-

munity Church in Harvey

and a former member of

the Mennonite Brethren

Church. He was also a

member of the American

Legion Post in Harvey.

Valentine is survived

by his wife, Marlene; son,

Craig (Kim) of Harvey;

daughters, Renee Kline of

Bismarck and Karla (Jon)

Skiftun of Harvey; 6

grandchildren; 5 great-

grandchildren; brother,

Daniel (Donny) Goldade

of Bismarck.

Valentine was preceded

in death by his parents;

brothers, Pete, Tony,

John, Joe, Clifford, Alfred

and an infant brother; sis-

ters, Christine Feldman,

Mary Wentz, Rose Keller,

JoHanna Gange and Agnes

Wagner.
