Sheldon (Ted) Brandt
Sheldon (Ted) Brandt,
84, of Cleveland, TN,
passed away on Thursday
Nov. 8, 2018.
Ted was born on the
family farm in Ryder, ND
to Max and Edrie (Bowen)
Brandt. Ted graduated
from Willow City High
School where he met the
love of his life, Sally At-
kinson. They married in
1958 and enjoyed 60 years
of marriage. He completed
a bachelors degree in edu-
cation from Minot State
University, then received
a masters degree from the
University of Iowa. Ted
taught for 11 years and
worked for the govern-
ment as an accountant for
33 years.
Ted was a hardworking
man, who enjoyed spend-
ing time with his family
more than anything else.
He attended hundreds of
sporting, musical, and
theatrical events for his
four grandchildren. Ted
was a competitive bike
rider who passed on his
love for sports to his chil-
dren and grandchildren.
Ted was an avid Yankees
fan and witnessed 23 of
their world series wins;
Ted also pulled for the
Green Bay Packers, cheer-
ing them on during all 4
Super Bowls. Travel,
Ted’s passion, was real-
ized when he visited all
50 states, sharing many of
these experiences with his
family.
Ted is survived by: his
wife, Sally Jo (Atkinson)
Brandt; his children, Scott
Brandt (Lynne) and Sonia
McHenry (Doug); his
grandchildren, Kyrie
Beckman (Calyn), Karis
Burke, Colby Brandt, and
Chandler Brandt; his
great-granddaughter, Kodi
Jo Beckman; his brother,
Ralph Brandt; his sisters,
Darlene Fred and Maxine
James; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in
death by his parents, Max
and Edrie Brandt; his
brother, Dr. James Brandt;
and his sister, Donna
Juhula.
Celebration of Life ser-
vice: Friday, Nov. 16,
2018 at 1:00 p.m. in West
Minot Church of God,
Minot, ND.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation and Viewing
will take place one hour
prior to the service on Fri-
day in the Church.
