Irene Louise Tompers,
88, of Bozeman, MT died
of natural causes on
Thursday, November 8,
2018.
Irene was born Sep-
tember 25, 1930 in
Parshall, ND to Anne
(Reidman) and Albert
Brendle. She graduated
from Parshall High School
and married Rodney
Tompers at St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church in Van
Hook, ND on November
15, 1949. After their mar-
riage, they moved to
Garrison, ND where she
maintained their home.
Later they moved to Bil-
lings, MT and then to
Great Falls, MT to be near
family. Irene loved to play
cards, especially bridge,
and knit, donating many
baby caps to Benefis Hos-
pital in Great Falls. Along
with knitting she loved to
find new recipes for Rod-
ney to make, rescue rab-
bits, entertain, and garage
sale. Mrs. Tompers was a
member of the American
Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her
son, Kelly Tompers and
his wife, Bev of Belgrade,
MT; daughter-in-law,
Ronda Tompers of Great
Falls; special friend, Pat
(Jeanne) Koppinger of
Yuma, AZ; six grandchil-
dren, Chad (Conradine)
Tompers of Bozeman,
Kristen (Les) Bruner and
Peter (Kristi) Tompers,
both of Great Falls, Jessi
(Travis) Hegg of Buxton,
ND, Emily Tompers
(Cavin Segil) of Bozeman,
and Zach Tompers of
Richland, WA; and eleven
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her husband,
Rodney; daughter, Patricia
Ann Tompers; son, David
Tompers; great-grandson,
Alexander Hegg; parents,
Anne and Albert Brendle;
brothers, Rudolph Bren-
dle and Ralph Brendle;
and sisters, Pauline Mel-
gard, Veronica Amann,
Dorothy Waldock, and
Matilda Tompers.
A Funeral Mass will be
held at noon on Thursday,
November 15 at Holy
Rosary Catholic Parish in
Bozeman.
Memorials are suggest-
ed to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
