Gary Ramey

passed away Saturday,

October 6, 2018, at Souris

Valley Care Center in Vel-

va.

Gary Earl Ramey was

born October 5, 1950, the

son of James and Eleanor

(Richards) Ramey, in

Minot, ND. He was raised

and educated in Minot

and graduated from Minot

High School in 1969.

Gary was once married

to Debra Harvey in 1970.

They made their home in

Langdon, ND, where he

worked in contracting

construction. Later, Gary

was once married to Glen-

da (Shirley) Sturn. They

made their home in

Sawyer, where he was a

volunteer firefighter, and

operated Sawyer Grocery

with his family. During

this time, he was active in

boyscouts and taught

hunter safety. Gary also

sold parts for Minot Truck

and Equipment.

Later in life, Gary pur-

sued his and completed

his Master’s Degree in

Systems Management at

Minot State University.

He then taught college

courses at Minot State

University.

He was a member of the

515 Club in Minot. He en-

joyed hunting, fishing

with his sons and grand-

son, and playing cards

with his friends.

Surviving family in-

cludes: sons, Troy Ramey,

Minot, and Jamie Ramey,

Aspen, CO; daughters,

Nikkole Heusel, Great

Falls, MT, and Shelly

Buechler, Minot, ND; 6

grandchildren; brothers,

George Ramey, Minot, and

James Ramey, Grafton,

ND; sisters, Kathleen

Neufeld, Phoenix, AZ,

and Beverly Locken,

Bismarck, ND; and several

nieces, nephews and

cousins.

Gary was preceded in

death by his parents;

grandparents; and his

brother, Dennis “Denny”.

A Private Family Ser-

vice will take place in the

spring with family and

friends.
