February 23, 1928, to

Frank and Anastasia

(Fronk) Fritel on a farm

near Orrin, ND. Conrad

married Carol Salwey on

October 27, 1952. They

moved to Tioga when

they were first married

and in 1954 they moved

to Stanley. During their

years in Stanley, Conrad

worked for MDU and

served the community as

a fireman and a park

board member. He was

also a pilot and served on

the Airport Authority, was

a member of the Golden

Age Club and Knights of

Columbus; also operated

and managed Regis

Theater and Bowling Al-

ley Cafe.

He enjoyed elk hunting

in Wyoming for many

years with family and

friends. Conrad and Carol

enjoyed many trips to

Alaska, Arizona, Canada,

trips to the Casino and

summers with family at

Van Hook.

When we think of Con-

rad we remember how he

enjoyed woodworking,

hunting, fishing and trap-

ping. We all loved his

quick wit and great sense

of humor. What we ad-

mired most about Conrad

was his dedication to his

faith and his love for his

family. All of our lives are

better because of his kind-

ness, his great faith and

his beautiful gentle spirit.
