Judith Lynn Luther
Oct. 23, 1959-Sept. 10, 2018
Judith Lynn Luther, 58,
Puyallup, WA, formerly of
Minot, ND, passed away
Monday, Sept. 10, 2018,
in a Lake Havasu City
hospital, after a long bat-
tle with cancer, surround
ed by her family.
Judy was born on Oc-
tober 23, 1959, daughter
of Sylvester and Theresa
Gefroh (Sitter) in Minot,
ND. She was raised and
educated in Karlsruhe,
ND. Upon graduation in
1977, she moved to
Minot, ND. After being di-
agnosed with cancer, she
and Mark moved to
Puyallup, WA to continue
cancer treatment in Seat-
tle.
On June 6, 1980, Judy
was united in marriage to
Mark Luther at St. John’s
Catholic Church in Minot,
which began a 38 year
marriage. In 1982, Nicole
was born and in 1985,
Sarah was born. After
working at Montana Dako-
ta Utilities, she decided
she wanted to stay home
with her two girls, which
began her 27 year career
as a daycare provider all
confined in her own, per-
sonal home.
Judy was a member of
St. John’s Catholic
Church. She was devoted
in her faith and practiced
it in her every day life.
She enjoyed playing
softball every summer
and the post game activi-
ties of each game. Judy
was known as “Gunner
Gefroh” as no shot was
out of her distance on the
Karlsruhe Tigers basket-
ball team. She also en-
joyed making crafts, creat-
ing floats that took first
place for many consecu-
tive years, including the
North Dakota State Fair,
decorating birthday cakes,
making Christmas orna-
ments, planting flowers,
taking winter family vaca-
tions throughout the
Caribbean and sending
birthday cards to many
family and friends. Judy
loved taking her girls to
the family farm on the
weekends and spending
quality time and making
memories with their
grandparents.
After more than four
years of fighting cancer,
she has now been set free.
We would like to sincere-
ly thank all her family
and friends who support-
ed her through all of her
anxiety and pain and for
keeping her family in
their prayers.
