Vernon C. Erickson, 91,
Minot, ND, passed away
Saturday, August 25,
2018, at the Heart of
America Medical Center
in Rugby, ND.
Vernon Clifford Erick-
son was born April 29,
1927, the son of Carl and
Martina (Ukestad) Erick-
son, in Wolford, ND. He
was raised and educated
in Wolford, ND.
Vernon enlisted in the
United States Navy De-
cember 7, 1945. He
proudly served his coun-
try and was honorably
discharged October 30,
1947.
On April 1, 1948, Ver-
non went to work at
Farmers Hardware in
Rolette, ND and he also
worked as a plumber and
electrician for three years.
Vernon was united in
marriage to Olive M. John-
son on July 21, 1950, in
Crookston, MN. From this
union, three children, De-
borah, Garland, and
Kimberly, were born.
They resided in various
cities which included,
Rolette, ND, Wolford, ND,
Seattle, WA, Williston,
ND and in Minnesota.
Then in 1955, Vernon and
Olive settled in Minot.
Olive passed away on
April 2, 1996. Vernon
continued to reside in
Minot until 2011, when
he moved to Rugby, ND.
He joined the Plumber
and Pipefitters Union Lo-
cal #300 of Minot in
February of 1953 and
worked various jobs
through the union and re-
tired in September of
1989.
He was a member of the
VFW Post #753, the
Moose Lodge, the Eagles
Aerie, Augustana Luth-
eran Church in Minot and
First Lutheran Church in
Rugby.
He enjoyed biking,
walking, traveling, golf-
ing, spending time with
family and friends and
watching football.
His loving family in-
cludes: children, Deborah
Frey, Garland (Sue) Erick-
son and Kimberly (Dar-
rell) Eisenzimmer all of
Minot; 8 grandchildren,
Jason, Jared, Justin and
Jesse Frey; Jaime De Boer
and Matthew Erickson;
and Grant and Kasey
Eisenzimmer; three great-
grandchildren, Jayden
Frey, Evan Frey, and Lo-
gan De Boer; brother, Car-
roll (Virgie) Erickson,
Rolette, ND; and
numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Vernon was preceded
in death by his parents;
wife, Olive; brothers,
Harris, Clifford, Norman,
Wilhelm and Howard; sis-
ters, Edith, Clarissa and
Bernice.
Funeral: Friday, August
31, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Sunset
Memorial Gardens, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Friday one
hour prior to the service
at Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
