Glenneys H. “Glen” Berg

Nov. 10, 1921-July 15, 2018

On July 15, Glen Berg,

96, died at Trinity Homes

in Minot. Born to Gunder

and Gudrun Berg in

McHenry, ND, Glen grew

up and graduated at Wil-

drose, ND. In high school

he was very active in all

sports and played the ac-

cordion for area dances;

talents he carried with

him for decades to come.

After graduation, he en-

tered the Civilian Conser-

vation Corps before join-

ing the army. In the Sig-

nal Corps he served in the

South Pacific. After

WWII, Glen attended

Minot State Teachers Col-

lege and the State School

of Science in Wahpeton.

He entered the work force

at the First District Health

Unit and later became the

Superintendent of the

Minot Water Treatment

Plant, where he retired

after 32 years with the

City of Minot.

He married Ruth Arne-

son at Wildrose in 1948.

They were parents to two

daughters, Claudia and

LeeAnn. Ruth passed

away in 1967. Glenneys

married Norma Paryzek,

also a city employee, in

1968, blending a stepson,

Corey Paryzek, into the

new family.

Following retirement,

he volunteered at Trinity

Nursing Home, Meals on

Wheels and the Golden

Ks. A longtime member of

Christ Lutheran Church,

he was also a member of

the Wm. G. Carroll Legion

Post and the VFW. He was

proud of his military ser-

vice and was pleased to

have participated in an

Honor Flight to the WWII

Memorial in Washington,

DC.

Always busy, Glen

played baseball for many

years, along with follow-

ing the Twins and Vik-

ings. He was a wood-

worker, enjoyed camping

and fishing, golfing and

traveling. He played his

accordion for many years

with the Country Gentle-

men and Judy’s Fun Time

Band.

He was preceded in

death by his wife Ruth;

sister, Evelyn Holm; and

brother, Henry Berg.

He is survived by his

wife Norma, Minot;

daughters, Claudia Berg

(Robert Matz), Bismarck

and LeeAnn Tibor (Larry),

Scranton; and stepson,

Corey Paryzek (Wendy),

Williston; five grandsons

and four

great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be

held Thursday, July 19,

2018, at 11:00 am at

Christ Lutheran Church,

Minot, fellowship and

lunch to follow at the

church, with interment at

Rosehill Memorial Park at

1:30 pm.

Visitation: Wednesday

from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.

Family Prayer Service:

Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.

In lieu of flowers

memorials are preferred

to Christ Lutheran Church

Rebuilding Fund, the Al-

zheimer Assoc. or donor’s

choice.
