William Edward (Bill)

Joyce age 84, of Noonan,

ND passed away on Mon-

day, May 28, 2018 at Sun-

set Place in Mandan, ND.

The funeral will be

held on Friday, June 1,

10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s

Church, in Crosby, ND

with burial at the North

Dakota Veterans Cemetery

in Mandan, ND at 11:00

a.m. on Monday, June 4,

2018 .

Bill Joyce was born in

Crosby, ND on January

28, 1934, the son of Tho-

mas and Evelyn Joyce of

Noonan. After completing

high school in Noonan in

1953, he spent two years

serving in the United

States Army. Bill then

worked on the West Coast

before returning home to

the family farm, where he

lived and farmed until re-

cently.

He married Judith Lynn

(Judi) Johnson in Center,

ND, on August 23, 1958.

The couple settled on the

farm four miles west of

Noonan, where they lived

and raised their family.

Bill was active in vari-

ous local organizations

over the years, with the

longest time being devot-

ed to Farmers Union con-

cerns, such as the Big Ten

local and the service sta-

tion board. He was also a

member of the American

Legion. He had been an

active member of both St.

Luke’s Catholic Church in

Noonan and St. Patrick’s

Catholic Church in Cros-

by.

He is survived by his

wife of nearly 60 years,

Judi, and their seven chil-

dren. They include Jan-

nine (John) Seymour of

Odessa, TX; Jim (Ruth)

Joyce of West Fargo; Pat

(Pam) Joyce of Dallas, TX;

Bridget Johnson of

Bismarck; Renee (Keith)

Brown of Bismarck; Shei-

la Joyce of Kent, WA; and

Brendan (Loralyn) Joyce

of Bismarck. He is also

survived by his brother,

Jack Joyce of Arvada, CO.

In addition, he leaves 16

grandchildren and 12

great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in

death by his parents and

his sisters, Pegge Moor-

meier of Seattle, WA, and

Liz Peck of Coral Springs,

FL, three brothers-in-law,

and two nieces.
