family farm just outside of

of the Galt School of
Nursing in Lethbridge,
Alberta, in 1952 and en-
joyed working as a re-
gistered nurse at several
hospitals in that region of
Saskatchewan. She played
the piano in a ragtime
band which played for
numerous dances.
Myrtle met Elof Pearson

and spent much of her
time raising her three
children and driving them
to various baton and
music lessons or FFA ac-
tivities. She enjoyed play-
ing Whist and was well
known for her homemade
buns, bars, and cookies.
Her favorite time of
year was Christmas when
she could act like a Mrs.
Claus and pick out Christ-
mas gifts to give to her
long list of relatives,
friends, and employees
who worked on the farm
and their families.
After raising her chil-
