Irene Thorpe

ANTLER – Irene Eleanor

Thorpe, 93, Mohall, form-

erly of Antler, was called

home to heaven on Satur-

day, May 26, 2018, at a

Minot hospital.

She was born April 2,

1925, in Mohall, to Arnt

and May (Kjems) Kvel-

stad. After graduating

from Cut Bank School,

she worked for neighbors

and friends.

Irene married Percy C.

Thorpe, of rural Antler,

on Nov. 18, 1942. They

resided on the Peter

Thorpe homestead, which

they later purchased.

Irene was a baptized and

confirmed at Bethel Luth-

eran Brethren Church,

rural Antler, becoming a

faithful member. Irene

and Percy raised wheat,

cattle and three grateful

children. After her

husband’s death on June

17, 1992, she remained on

the farm for several years

before purchasing a home

in Mohall. Irene was

currently residing at the

Good Samaritan Society

in Mohall. Gram was

thankful for her “angels.”

Holt, Isaiah Fuller, Mor-

gan Sandvick, Alex Sand-

vick, Shelby Sandvick

and Justin Sandvick; and

many nieces, nephews

and cousins.

Irene was preceded in

death by: her parents;

husband; brothers, Art

Kvelstad and Harley Kvel-

stad; uncle, Hank Kvel-

stad; and infant grand-

daughter, Michelle

Yvonne Kelly.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Sa-

turday, June 2, 2018, at

Bethel Lutheran Brethren

Church, rural Antler.

Burial: Bethel Luth-

eran Brethren Church

Cemetery, rural Antler.

Family Service: 7 p.m.,

Friday, June 1, 2018, at

the funeral home.

Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m.,

Friday, at Brose Funeral
