Robert “Bob” Huus, 63,
Makoti, died Saturday,
March 3, 2018, at a Minot
hospital.
He was born February
23, 1955, in Minot and
was adopted by Clayton
and Marvel Huus in Au-
gust of 1955. He attended
school in Makoti and
Parshall, graduating in
1973. He then attended
ND State College of Sci-
ence for two years.
Bob married Elizabeth
“Liz” Weinand on June
25, 1976. Throughout his
lifetime, he worked a
variety of jobs which in-
cluded Makoti Elevator
for 10 years, Myers Meats
for 20 years, Parshall
Food Pride and Lynne
Pumping, before retiring
in April 2017 from
Northrop Grumman. He
continued work by help-
ing his son, Chris, with
his business. Bob, and his
family, painted about 17
barns and many houses in
his lifetime. He planned
on enjoying his retirement
with his children and
grandchildren.
Bob was a people per-
son, who took personal
interest in everyone. He
will be remembered for
his laugh and his smile.
He was an avid sports fan,
especially his kids’ high
school careers; as well as,
his nieces and nephews’
teams. He loved his fami-
ly and supported them in
every aspect of their lives.
He had a profound impact
on many young people.
He loved the Green Bay
Packers, Los Angeles Lak-
ers and the New York
Yankees.
He is survived by his
wife of 42 years, Liz; son,
Chris (Dar) of Makoti;
daughters, Denise (Jason)
Diffely of Makoti, Steph-
anie of Makoti and Rachel
(Austin Newman) of
Surprise, AZ; grandchil-
dren, Grayson Diffely and
Jocelynn Newman; mom,
Marvel Christenson;
brothers, Jim Huus (Lori)
and Roger Christenson
(Kari); sisters, Janis Keller
(Jim) and Julie Altenbernd
(Dan); five sisters-in-law;
and two brothers-in-law;
48 nieces and nephews;
and 26 grand-nieces and
grand-nephews.
Bob was preceded in
death by his dad, Clayton
Huus; step-dad, Ray
Christenson; maternal
grandparents, Olga and
Herman Schenfisch; pat-
ernal grandparents, Oscar
and Pearl Huus; parents-
in-law, Tom and Teresa
Weinand.
Funeral: Saturday,
March 10, 2018 at 11:00
a.m. in Makoti School
Gymnasium, Makoti
Visitation: Friday from
noon to 5:00 p.m. in
Langhans Funeral Home,
Parshall
Interment: St. Elizabeth
