Edith Anderson

Aug. 17, 1916-March 27, 2018

Edith Anderson, 101,

Minot, ND, passed away

Tuesday, March 27, 2018,

in a Minot Care Facility.

Edith Angeline Wade

was born August 17, 1916,

in Chinook, MT to

Haakon (H.B.) and Clara

(Stafsilien) Wade. She

lived in many towns in

North Dakota as a young

girl because of her Dad’s

job of managing lumber

yards. She graduated from

Douglas High School in

1934, and continued her

education at Minnett’s

Beauty School in Fargo,

ND, graduating in the fall

of 1934. Edith worked in

Wahpeton, Minot, and

Stanley before opening

her own shop, “Edie’s

Beauty Shop” in Sanish

and New Town, ND

where she worked for

many years.

It was in Sanish, ND

where she met her hus-

band, Orville C. Ander-

son, from Keene, ND.

They were united in mar-

riage on January 25, 1942,

at American Lutheran

Church, Stanley, ND.

They lived at Keene

where Orville farmed

with his father. They later

moved to New Town, ND

always had something on

hand to go with a cup of

coffee. Her greatest pleas-

ure was feeding her

guests, even if they pro-

tested. She also stayed

busy with crafts and en-

joyed crocheting, sewing,

and knitting. She partici-

pated in many craft sales

and especially loved visit-

ing with all the custo-

mers. Wherever she lived,

Edith was an active

member of her church,

teaching Sunday school,

participating in circle, la-

dies aid, quilting groups

and volunteering as need-

ed. As a member of

Bethany Lutheran in

Minot, she was active in

helping with the church’s

food booth at Minot’s

Hostfest and volunteered

well into her early 90’s.

Edith worked for a few

years as a receptionist for
