turday.

Ellen Reed was born

January 23, 1945 in Rug-

by, daughter of Alfred and

Arletta (Worrall) Reed.

She was raised and edu-

cated in Wolford and

Rolette area, having gra-

duated from Rolette High

School.

Ellen married Jack

Markwardt September 1,

1965 in Minot. They lived

in various areas prior to

making Dickinson their

home in the early 1980’s.

She enjoyed camping,

fishing, cross stich, crafts,

reading and especially

spending time with her

husband, children and

grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by her

husband Jack; three chil-

dren, Brad (Joyce)

Markwardt, Hazen, Char-

lene (Marvin) Barth, Dic-

kinson, and Michael

Markwardt, Dickinson;

seven grandchildren, Jor-

dan Markwardt, Logan

Markwardt, Nathan Barth,

Kadin Barth, Natalie

Markwardt, Jared

Markwardt and Landyn

Markwardt; and one

brother, Terry Reed,

Rolette.

She was preceded in

death by her son, Bryan

Markwardt; sister-in-law,

Mary Beth Reed; her fa-

ther, Alfred Reed; mother,

Arletta Lucht;

step-mother, Gloria Reed;

and step-father, Clarence
