James M. Noss, age 82
of Grand Forks, died on
Wednesday, August 30,
2017, at Valley Eldercare
in Grand Forks. A
memorial service will be
held on Friday, Sep-
tember 15, 2017, at 2:00
P.M. at the Fairview
Cemetery in Stanley.
James Marlyn Noss, son
of Alvin and Edna (Gan-
drud) Noss, was born on
March 18, 1935, in Moun-
trail County. He was
reared and educated in
the area. After his educa-
tion, he entered the US
Army. On January 31,
1963, he was honorably
discharged. He returned
to the Stanley area and
worked at Gray Brothers
Creamery. Later Jim mov-
ed to Grand Forks and
worked at the University
of North Dakota in the
Custodial Department for
15 years; followed by
working for St Michael’s
School in Grand Forks,
also as a custodian, until
his retirement.
On July 25, 1987, he
was married to Karen
(Lynch) Kacijancic at
Wesley United Methodist
Church in Grand Forks.
He was a member of the
Forx Amateur Radio Club,
American Legion and
VFW. Jim had his Ama-
teur Radio License
(KB0LYD) and would
listen to his ham radio. He
also enjoyed fishing,
watching sports, and
e-mailing with his friends.
He is survived by his
wife, Karen of Grand
Forks; step-sons, Scott
(Bernadette) Kacijancic of
San Diego, CA, and
Timothy Kacijancic of
Minneapolis, MN; 3
step-grandchildren; a sis-
ter, Elaine Gray of Stan-
ley, ND.
Jim was preceded in
death by his parents and a
brother, Darol L. Noss.
