Marie Hanson age 87, of

Crosby, ND, passed away

on Tuesday, August 22,

2017 at St. Luke’s Hospi-

tal in Crosby.

Mass of Christian Buri-

al will be 10:00 A.M., Sa-

turday, August 26, 2017 at

St Patrick’s Catholic in

Crosby. Rite of Committal

will follow at St. Patrick’s

Catholic Cemetery in

Crosby. Visitation will be

3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on

Friday, August 25, 2017 at

Stakston-Martin Funeral

Home with a Vigil/Rosary

at 7:00 PM. and one hour

before the service at the

church.

Margaret Marie Parsley

was born February 10,

1930 in a little farmhouse

near Colgan, ND on a cold

and stormy winter day,

the third child of six born

to Glen and Margaret

Parsley. Her father

passed away when she

was 16 years old and

Aunt Ellen Chandler saw

to it that Marie go an edu-

cation at Ursuline

Academy in Great Falls,

MT. Marie excelled in

music, earning a college

scholarship and graduat-

ing with a secretarial de-

gree. Marie married Ar-

den “Babe” Hanson on

November 20, 1950.

Along with Arden’s

daughter, Gail, they had

two children, Glenda and

Daniel.

Marie retired from

Farmers State Bank in

Crosby after 45 years of

service. As director of

their Heritage club, Marie

and Babe traveled to

places across the United

States and Canada, in-

cluding Alaska but their

very favorite place to

‘travel’ was across the

dance floor. Active in St.

Patrick’s Catholic Church,

leading the choir and

serving on the Altar

Guild. Marie was a Wom-

an of the Moose and

American Legion Auxili-

ary member. She was

famous for her chocolate

cake with carmel frosting.

The door of the Hanson

house was always open to

family and strangers who

quickly became friends.

Marie was preceded in

death by her parents,

brothers, Bobby, Dale,

Merle and Darrel;

step-daughter, Gail and

beloved husband for al-

most 66 years, Babe.

Carrying on her

memory are her children,

Glenda (Byron) Jacobson

and Daniel (Deb) Hanson:

grandchildren, Angela

(Michael) Klappa, Heather

(Brad) Marecek, Erik

Jacobson and Dalyss Han-

son; great grandchildren:

Alexander Jacob Klappa,

Isla Skye Marecek, Maia

Marie Marecek and Kacey

Marie Jacobson: brother,

Charles Deane (Rosi) Pars-

ley and sisters-in-law,

Judy Parsley, Hazel Pars-

ley and Bernice Hanson:

along with nieces,

nephews, cousins and
