Joyce E. Johnson

Joyce E. Johnson, 81,

Minot, passed away

peacefully in her home

surrounded by her loved

ones.

Joyce E. Westfall was

born January 15, 1936, the

daughter of LeRoy and

Evelyn (Scofield) Westfall,

in Minot. She was raised

and educated in Minot.

Joyce was united in

marriage to Dale L. John-

son, August 23, 1958 in

Garrison. After they mar-

ried, they moved to a

farmstead south of Bert-

hold where they farmed

and raised various lives-

tock. She raised her 8

children as a full-time

wife, mother, homemaker

and farmhand.

In December of 1970

the family moved to

Minot, where Joyce

gained employment at

John Moses Hospital.

When the hospital closed

its Minot location she

went to work for Trinity

Hospital where she

worked until she retired

in 2004.

When her children

were younger Joyce en-

joyed attending church

services at Church of God,

gardening, canning, camp-

ing, fishing and just

spending time with family

and friends. She also en-

joyed her years of

membership to the Ladies

V.F.W. Auxiliary and an

occasional game of bingo.

In her later years she

enjoyed spending time

with her grandchildren

(23) and her

great-grandchildren (44).

Holding babies always

brought a smile to her

face.

2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the

Surrey Senior Citizens

Center, 301 2nd St. NW,

Surrey ND 58785. Friends

vice.
