Kermit H. Peterson, age
95 of Williston, ND, and
formerly of Crosby, ND,
passed away Friday, June
16, 2017, at Bethel Luth-
eran Nursing & Rehabili-
tation Center in Williston,
ND.
Funeral service will be
at 2:00 pm Thursday, June
22, 2017, in the chapel of
Bethel Lutheran Nursing
& Rehabilitation Center
with Pastor Sheldon
Sorenson officiating.
Visitation will be 9:00
AM to 10:30 AM on
Thursday, June 22, 2017,
at Stakston-Martin Fun-
eral Home in Crosby, ND,
and also 12:00 PM to 2:00
PM before the service at
Bethel Lutheran Nursing
& Rehabilitation Center in
Williston, ND. Burial will
be at the North Dakota
Veterans Cemetery in
Mandan, ND, at 11:00 AM
on Monday, June 26,
2017.
Kermit was born at the
family farm on September
23, 1921, to Edwin and El-
sie Peterson of Crosby,
ND. He attended grade
school at Hawkeye Town-
ship School. He graduated
from Crosby High School
in 1942.
Kermit was drafted into
the Army on August 11,
1942, and served over
seas in the Ardennes,
Rhineland, Central Eu-
rope, Battles and Cam-
paigns. He was honorably
discharged on February
15, 1946. And after his
discharge/separation from
the Army service he came
back to Crosby, ND, to
help his father and broth-
ers with the farming.
He was a collector of
coins and stamps also.
Kermit was a member
of the Crosby 75 Ameri-
can Legion and Moose
Lodge.
On February 10, 2011,
Kermit entered Bethel
Lutheran Nursing & Reha-
bilitation Center where he
remained until his death.
Kermit participated in
many of the activities
some of which included
bingo, sing along, fishing,
prom, and going for a ride
in a corvette. Kermit will
be remembered for sing-
ing “You Are My
Sunshine” in the hallways
of Bethel.
Kermit was preceded in
death by his parents
Edwin and Elsie Peterson,
brothers, Ernest, Lloyd,
Signor, Archie, Sigurd,
and sister Eleanor.
He is survived by
Nephews, Archie Jr. Peter-
son of Crosby and his
daughter Tami Peterson
and his sons Brandon and
wife Krystal, Garth and
wife Mandy Peterson of
Crosby and Williston, ND.
Nieces, Eva Anseth of
Choteau, MT, and her
children Scott and wife
Kari, Wendy and husband
Keith Newman. Nieces,
Sharon Fite and Orlyn
Daniels Fountain, Colora-
do. Nephews, Jerry Al-
cock, Mt Juliet, TN, and
Lowell Alcock, Havre,
MT.
