SHERWOOD – Forrest
Elliott Bruce, 95, Minot,
formerly of Sherwood,
died Saturday, June 24,
2017, at Brentmoor Assist-ed Living Center, Minot.
He was born May 29,
1922, in Stafford Town-
ship, Renville County,
west of Sherwood to
Frederick and Sena (John-
son) Bruce. He attended
country school through
the eighth grade, one year
of high school in Kenmare
and graduated from Sher-
wood High School in
1940. He farmed with his
father and his brother,
Evan.
Forrest married Mavis
Delene Zacharias in April
of 1950. He continued
farming until he was 75.
He also assisted Russ
Steeves hauling grain for
several years and served
as a township assessor.
Mavis died Dec. 7, 2013.
Forrest continued to live
in Sherwood until a year
ago when he moved to
Brentmoor Assisted Liv-
ing in Minot.
Forrest was a member
of Our Savior Lutheran
Church, Sherwood. He
enjoyed trips to the casi-
no, card games and play-
ing bingo. He will be
remembered as a humble,
witty, conservative, in-
dependent man.

Funeral: 1 p.m.,
Wednesday, June 28,
2017, at Our Savior Luth-
eran Church, Sherwood.
Burial: Rose Hill
Cemetery, rural Kenmare.
Visitation: Wednesday,
11 a.m. until the service
time, at the church.
