resident of Albuquerque

since 1970, died Tuesday,

January 3, 2017.

She is survived by her

loving husband of 34

years, Roger Pearson of

Albuquerque. Sisters:

of Albuquerque, Adam

of Albuquerque, their

of Fargo, along with many

grand nieces and neph-

ews.

Candice was preceded

in death by her parents,

Lillian and Arnold, and

her brother, Dale Skars-

gard.

Candy was born on

June 6, 1950, in Minot,

ND. She was raised in a

small farming community,

Makoti, where her love for

horses, baton twirling,

academic excellence and

especially for family and

friends flourished. Often

she would lead local

parades atop her beloved

horse, Chevelle. She at-

tended the University of

North Dakota and gra-

duated from the Universi-ty of New Mexico in 1972.

She was a revered educa-

tor in the Albuquerque

Public Schools for 25 1/2

years. Upon retirement,

she was employed at Gar-

denSwartz Team Sales.

Candy was witty, fun, au-

thentic – to quote a loving

cousin- and a joy to all

who were blessed to have

known her.

A Celebration of her

Life will be held on Mon-

day, January 23, 2017, at

10:00 a.m. at FRENCH

Funerals in Albuquerque,

NM with a reception fol-

lowing. Interment will fol-

low the reception at Sun-

set Memorial Park

Cemetery. In lieu of

flowers, memorial contri-
