Gayle Martinson

Gayle Martinson, 64,

Velva, passed away on

Sunday, December 18,

2016 in a Minot hospital.

Gayle Nelson was born

on January 10, 1952, the

daughter of Earl and

Beatrice Nelson. She was

raised on the family farm

near Ruso, ND and gra-

duated from Velva High

School.

Gayle was united in

marriage to Galen Martin-son on July 24, 1970 at St.

John’s Lutheran Church

in Kongsberg, ND. Gayle

worked for Avon, Ag Ser-

vices, co-owned the

Hitching Post Bar in

Benedict and was a rural

mail carrier for the United

States Postal Service.

Galen passed away on Oc-

tober 12, 2012. Following

his death, she continued

to live in Velva.

(Brenda) Martinson and

Phillip (Sarah) Martinson;

granddaughter, Cheree

Schneider; siblings, Dar-

lene (Richard) Ritter and

Curtis (Diana) Nelson;

sisters-in-law, Andrea

(Eric) Klanderman, Judy

Sloboden, Myrna Undlin,

Loretta Martinson and

Joyce Martinson; her

beloved companion, Mr.

Boots; and several nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Gayle was preceded in

death by her parents; hus-

band, Galen; and broth-

ers-in-law, Melvin and Le-

land Martinson, Raymond

Sloboden and Ron Und-

lin.

Visitation:  There will

be no reviewal, as it was

Gayle’s wish to have cre-

mation take place. How-

ever, friends may sign a

guest register on Thurs-

day, December 22, 2016

from 2 until 5 pm at

Thompson- Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot, ND.

Memorial Service:  Fri-

day, December 23, 2016 at

2 pm at Concordia Luth-

eran Church, Benedict,

ND

Burial:  A private fami-

ly burial will take place at

Velva Community

Cemetery, Velva, ND in

spring of 2017.
