Barbara Dolan
Barbara Elizabeth Do-
lan, 83, Minot and former-ly of Ray and Williston
died on Saturday, De-
cember 10, 2016 in a
Minot hospital.
Barbara was born on
September 15, 1933 in the
city of Jamaica on Long Is-
land in the state of New
York to Charles and Juana
(Herries) Langhein. She
was reared and educated
in St. Albans on Long is-
land and graduated from
Andrew Jackson High
School there in 1951. As a
young lady, she was ac-
tive in Girl Scouts and
eventually became an as-
sistant leader. As a young
adult she was employed
by the Equitable Life As-
surance Society in New
York City for six years.
Barb was very proud to
tell people in her New
York accent, that she was
from Long Island!
Barbara married Re-
verend Stanley T. Dolan
on June 14, 1958 in St. Al-
bans. They made their
home in North Dakota
where Stan was employed
as a minister in the
Bismarck Diocese of the
Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America. The
family resided in Tuttle
(1958-1963), Stanton
(1963-1970 and Ray
(1970-1987) prior to serv-
ing as the Chaplain of the
Bethel Lutheran Home in
Williston (1987-1997) and
as Visitation Pastor at
Christ Lutheran Church in
Minot (1997-2007). Re-
verend Dolan died on
May 3, 2011. Barbara had
continued to reside in
Minot.
Barbara was a member
of First Lutheran Church
in Williston and served on
the church council and
ELCW. She was currently
a member of Christ Luth-
eran Church in Minot.
Also, she was a member
of the Jolly 16 Homemak-
ers, taught Sunday
School, bowled and was a
volunteer at the Bethel
Lutheran Home. She
especially enjoyed crafts,
baking, cooking and gar-
dening.

(Michelle) Dolan of Ray,
Jeanette Dolan of Berthold
and Carla Moorhead (Tom
Ross) of Minot; grandchil-dren: Cassandra Ayub
(Kamran) of Minneapolis,
(baby on the way) Alexan-
dra (Marlin) Dart and
great-granddaughter
Emma of Casselton and
Paige (MSU) and Maari
Dolan of Ray; brother and
sister-in-law Erling and
Marlys Dolan; aunts by
marriage Adelaide and
Mabel Throntfiet, all of
Crosby, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded
in death by her parents,
husband, infant sister,
brother and sister-in-law:
Charles and Beth
Langhein and three
nephews.

Christ Lutheran Church,
Minot.
Graveside Service:
Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
in Sunset Rest Cemetery
west of Ray.
Visitation: Tuesday
from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00
p.m. in Thomas Family
Funeral Home – Minot.
