Mildred Peterson

Dec. 26, 1920 – Nov. 14, 2016

Mildred Verbena Peter-

son, 95, Minot and form-

erly of rural Ryder died

on Monday, November 14,

2016 in a Minot nursing

home.

Mildred was born on

December 26, 1920 on a

farm northeast of Makoti,

ND to Peter and Carrie

(Olson) Bergeson. She

was reared on the family

farm, educated in Makoti

and was baptized and

confirmed at Hope Luth-

eran Church in Makoti. As

a young adult she assisted

with the operation of the

farm.

Mildred married Leslie

Peterson on October 16,

1940 in Minot. They made

their home on a farm in

Anna Township of Ward

County northeast of Ryder

where they raised small

grains and cattle and were

the proud parents of a son

Ronald. They retired from

farming in 1968 and

moved to Minot in 1969.

Leslie died on Sep-

tember 12, 1984. Mildred

had continued to reside in

Minot most recently at

Dakota Terrace Apart-

ments and Brent-

moor/Brookdale.

Mildred was formerly

an active member of St.

John’s Lutheran Church

in Ryder as well as the

Farmers Union and a local

homemaker’s group and

birthday club. While

residing in Minot she was

a member of Zion Luth-

eran Church, Women of

the Moose, Eagles Auxili-

ary and a senior citizens

group. She especially en-

joyed playing cards espe-

cially pinochle, bingo and

dancing.

Mildred’s loving family

includes her son: Ronald

(Muriel) Peterson of

Ryder; grandchildren:

Rondi (Steve) Deaver of

Minot and Kari (Scott)

Mart of LaMoure; great

grandchildren: Ana and

Tate Mart and Carson and

Cole Deaver; brother: Mel-

vyn (Lucille) Bergeson of

Minot and numerous

nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded

in death by her parents,

husband and siblings:

Marion, Gladys, Lyle and

Leonard.

Celebration of the Life

of Mildred Peterson:

Monday, November 21,

2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion

Lutheran Church – Minot.

Interment:  Sunset

Memorial Gardens-Minot.

Visitation:  Sunday

from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00

p.m. at Zion Lutheran

Church.

Memorials are pre-

ferred to the Zion Luth-

eran Church Building
