Floyd Fraley
Floyd Roland Fraley,
96, Minot died on Sun-
day, May 29, 2016 in a
Minot hospital.
Floyd was born on
February 27, 1920 in
Froid, MT to Paul and Sel-
ma (Tobiason) Fraley. He
was reared and educated
in Minot and graduated
from Minot High School
in 1938. As a young adult
he was employed by
Montgomery Ward
Department Store and
Lockheed Aircraft Com-
pany in Burbank, CA
manufacturing P38 air-
craft. He enlisted in the
U.S. Army on April 14,
1942 and served with the
1884th Medical Detach-
ment based out of
McCloskey General Hos-
pital in Temple, TX and
received the American
Theater Medal, Good Con-
duct Medal and Meritori-
ous Unit Award prior to
his honorable discharge as
a Staff Sergeant on De-
cember 15, 1945.
Floyd married Virginia
Pels on April 20, 1945 in
Temple, TX. They made
their home there while
Floyd finished his mili-
tary service. Following his
discharge they moved to
Minot and resided at 1301
1st St. S.W. for forty-five
years. Floyd was em-
ployed in office manage-
ment at Motor Service,
Refrigeration
Equipment/Evensen
Welding Supplies for
twenty-five years and
Western Welding Supply
for twelve years. He re-
tired in 1985. Most recent-ly he had resided at 1300
32nd Ave. S.W.
Floyd was a member of
Vincent United Methodist
Church – Minot and the
Minot American Legion
Post #26. He especially
enjoyed traveling, glass
collecting and photogra-
phy – especially photos of
early Minot.
Floyd’s loving family
includes his wife of 71
years: Virginia; children:
James (Barbara) Fraley of
Minot, Nancy (David)
Lingen of Mandan, Tho-
mas Fraley of Galveston
TX and Bob (Tammy) Fra-
ley of Cottage Grove MN;
grandchildren: Paul
(Brenda) Fraley, Nicole
(Andy) Dreiling, Tina
Lingen, Scott (Lauren)
Lingen, Kevin and Bryan
Fraley and Lucas Fraley
Olsen; great grandchil-
dren: Paige Fraley, Noah,
Isabel and Christian Dreil-
ing and Lucy Lingen;
great great granddaughter:
Kinlee Grimes and several
nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Floyd was preceded in
death by his parents, son:
Richard, sisters: Hazel (El-
dou) Evensen and Marva
(Don) Temanson.

Methodist Church –
Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park – Minot
Visitation: Tuesday
from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00
p.m. in Thomas Family
Funeral Home – Minot.
