Michael Thell
Michael Leopold Thell,
also known as Smokey or
Junior, passed away Sat-
urday, Nov. 21, 2015.
He was born Feb. 18,
1941, in rural Morrison
County, Minnesota. He
joined the Navy in 1958
at the age of 17. He was
honorably discharged
after four years. Shortly
after his discharge in
1963 he joined the U.S.
Coast Guard, where he
also served five years.
Following his discharge,
he used his veterans edu-
cation to be trained as an
over-the-road trucker.
Michael pursued his
career through the years
and relocated to Bisbee.
While living there he had
numerous trucking jobs
including working for
Hendrickson Farms for
15 years. The last 11
years of his life he drove
truck for Feland Brothers
Farms, where he became
part of our family.
He is preceded in
death by: his parents and
sister Elizabeth Saarela.
He is survived by: his
daughter, Dannielle
Thell; grandson, Michael;
brothers and sisters, Mar-
garet (Dennis) Meyer,
Mark (Terri) and Paul
(Myrna); and 10 nieces
and nephews.
Memorial service: 11
a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in
Bethel Lutheran Church,
rural Antler.
Burial: will be in Min-
nesota.
