Catherine Wentz
DEVILS LAKE Catherine Wentz, 100, Devils Lake, formerly of Minnewaukan, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, in a Devils Lake nursing home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1914, to Anton and Mary Eva Scherr at their farm home in Pierce County.
She married Nick Wentz on July 17, 1933, at Balta. He died Sept. 7, 1986.
Survivors: children, Wendelin, Spokane, Wash., Leona Borg, Benton City, Wash., Dennis, Minnewaukan, Gerald, Minot, Mary Ann Hettwer, Calio, James, Joan Korb, Larry, Edward, Ralph, Peter and Leroy, all of Devils Lake; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great- great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Burial: St. James Cemetery, rural Minnewaukan.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a rosary and Scripture service at 7 p.m., and for one hour prior to the funeral.
