Mabel Dahl
Mabel Dahl, 91, formerly of Minot, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at the Benedictine Living Center, Garrison.
Mabel was born Jan. 24, 1924, on the family farm, near Benedict, to Lohven and Bessie (Novlesky) Bovkoon. She was reared in Greatstone Township, McLean County, where she attended grade school. She graduated from Turtle Lake High School.
She was united in marriage to Harold E. Dahl June 12, 1943, in Minot. Mr. Dahl was employed by the Holmes Electric Company for many years before becoming a partner in the business in 1963. Mabel was employed for 25 years by the Clarence Parker Hotel as a banquet waitress and thus became acquainted with many of Minot’s leading citizens.
Mabel especially enjoyed helping people. She was active at the 515 Club for 35 years. Mabel loved to dance. She taught many people to waltz, two step and polka. She and Harold looked like professionals on the dance floor.
Mabel was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a former member of the Minot Moose Lodge.
Mabel’s loving family includes: daughter, Jean (Anthony) Peszko, Houston; granddaughters, Rebekah (Brent) Heist, Cincinnati, and Sarah (Dustin) Schilling, Dallas; great-grandchildren, By- ron, Ethan and Eric Heist, of Cincinnati, and Joeli, Abigail and Scott Schill- ing, Dallas; sister, Violette Okerson, Turtle Lake; and several nieces and neph- ews.
Mabel was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sisters, Mary, Stacia, Elsie, Emma and Agnes; brothers, Alex, Peter, John, William and George.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memor- ial Park, Minot.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, Friday, July 10, at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of plants and flowers, me- morials are preferred to the Anne Carlsen Center for Children, P.O. Box 8000, Jamestown, ND 58402.
