Lorrayne Hurt

Lorrayne Frances Hurt, 80, Minot, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, in her home.
Lorrayne was born June 4, 1934, in Bergen, the daughter of Steven and Frances (Schatz) Leier.
She enjoyed her various jobs in Minot, but especially loved working with junior bowlers at Chateau Lanes. She valued the many friendships she had through her career. She retired from the North Dakota Motor Vehicle Licensing and Testing Bureau (driver’s license examiner), to move to Lafitte, La. Lorrayne and Fred owned and operated a collectible business, along with a construction company and were both very active in local civic organizations. They moved back to Minot in 2004 to be near her family.
Lorrayne’s passion for collecting and going to auctions brought her to the Minot Flea Market as a regular vendor, where she was known as ‘the Jewelry Lady’.
She will also be missed by her many coffee buddies at the truck stop.
Lorrayne is survived by: her husband of 20 years, Fred; son, Dennis (Linda) Killmer; daughters, Donna Cornelius and Diane (Paul) Behm; stepchildren, Darla, Darryl, Dustin and Shannon; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Lee Leier; sisters, Amelia Wilkins and Agnes Schmidt; first husband, Earl Killmer; and son-in-law, Russell Malcomb.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Friends may sign a guest book: 4 to 7 p.m. today, Friday, Feb. 6, and one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
