Sandra Klimpel

Sandra Klimpel, 69, Diamond Springs, Calif., formerly of Minot and Sherwood, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in her home.

She was born March 10, 1944, to Arthur and Edith Bondly, in Minot. She was once married to Duane Derheim, whom she married July 28, 1964. She married Tom Klimpel June 14, 1985, in Minot.

Sandy’s formative years were the perfect time in history for her, as she loved Doo Wop and Bebop music with artists such as The Platters, The Coasters, The Del-Vikings, Fats Domino and Jerry Lee Lewis. Hairstyles included the ponytail, the poodle, the bouffant and the beehive. Cars had tail fins and bullet taillights. Everyone hung out at Hanson’s Drive-in, The Keg, A&W or the Daddy-O. She loved the dances, as they were as wild and fun as Sandy the Stroll, Twist, Hully-Gully and the Bunny Hop.

Everyone who knew her has multiple stories to tell of our fun-loving, lovable Sandy. If there was fun to be had, even if it was a bit mischievous, she was in, that was a trait she inherited from her mother, Edith. Sandy just loved having fun and loved people a friend was a friend forever and family was always first.
