Barry Thompson
Barry L. Thompson, age 70, of Golden Valley, Minn., and formerly of Ambrose and Crosby, passed away on Oct. 25, 2013, with his sister at his side.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 9, 2013, at the Ambrose Lutheran Church in Ambrose, with Pastor Ron Dahle officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Ambrose Cemetery.
Barry was born on Jan. 4, 1943, in Ambrose, N.D., the son of Bert and Lillie (Haugland) Thompson. Barry or “B.T.” as he was called, had a great sense of humor and a quick wit about him. Barry married Barb (Knudson) Hackenberg of Crosby. They had two children, a son, Brian, currently of Melbourne, Australia; and a daughter, Bobbi Jo, who resides in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Wherever Barry’s travels took him new friendships were made quickly. He had a magnetic personality. Young and old loved to hear his stories and he always had a new joke to share. B.T. had a great love of animals and especially dogs.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by: his children; his brother, Arden (Janis), of Stanley, N.D.; and his sister, Lana (Roger) Watterud, of Brooklyn Center, Minn. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Stakston-Martin Funeral Home of Crosby is in charge of arrangements.
