New ND film comes to streaming platforms today

“A Heart like Water,” a frontier survival story set in Dakota Territory in 1887 and based on the true story of North Dakota settlers, is available on streaming platforms as of today.

It will be available to stream on the exclusive platform Vimeo-on-Demand as of today. It is $15 to rent or $20 to purchase. Streaming access can be found through the website: www.aheartlikewater.com.

The streaming option includes not only the film, but also a pre-recorded Q&A with Producer Daniel Bielinski, who answers commonly-asked questions about the film. It also includes the trailer for Canticle Productions’ next film, “Sanctified.”

“A Heart like Water” was filmed in North Dakota in the winter and summer of 2020 and was produced by local production companies Canticle Productions and DN Cinematics. Daniel Bielinski, Bismarck, is founder of Canticle Productions.

The film is the first of three features co-produced by Canticle Productions and DN Cinematics in the past year. “A Heart like Water” premiered in theaters across North Dakota in December 2021. Minot’s Oak Park Theater held the first screening. In total, the film has been featured in more than 20 cinemas across the state and the surrounding region, selling out multiple venues.

“Sanctified” and “End of the Rope” are premiering this fall. All were shot in North Dakota and seek to honor the history and culture of North Dakota.
