A Minot woman was given five years of probation for engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor.
McKayla Marie Swallow, 25, of Plentywood, Montana, was sentenced Oct. 20 in North Central District Court after previously pleading guilty to corruption of a minor-victim over 15-defendant 22 or older, a Class C felony. She was sentenced to five years with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. She was ordered to serve two days, with credit for two days already served, and may avoid additional confinement by successfully completing the five years of probation. She must not have contact with the victim, register as a sex offender and pay $525 in court fees.
Two identical counts of corruption of a minor were dismissed.
The charges stem from an investigation in the spring of 2025 that discovered Swallow had connected with the victim through social media and went on to develop a sexual relationship.
